Rain, rain go away

26 Oct 2011 by Radioactive Runner, 6 Comments »

After a sunny weekend which we were very thankful for by the way and took full advantage of, we are greeted again with rainy and dreary days. I guess that’s all part of Fall isn’t it…

I haven’t let that put a damper on my morning runs though. Monday, I headed out early and had a good 40 minute run. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure how it would go since it had been a couple of days.

I wish I had my camera with me… although the sky was black as black and ready to pour any minute, there was a rainbow peeking through the grey clouds. A cold rain came down at around my 25 minute mark but thankfully, I didn’t melt. I don’t have a Garmin. Some days, I think it would be really nice to have and other days, I think I can live without it… or at least that’s what I tell myself to avoid spending so much on a fancy watch. Well, I must be living since I’m still breathing, right. I normally use Map My Run to calculate the distance and so far, it works out well.

i swear, i was excited

Yesterday I was happy to run 10km in the cool morning. I mean, I would have been happier in shorts and a tank but hey, a girls got to take what she can get… and this morning it was 4 degrees. I didn’t mind it though and was thankful for a great run that left me feeling energized and — ok, a bit tired too.

I had been craving this soup for a couple of days now. So last night, I finnnallly made it. Mama Pea, you’ve got me hooked. I just love it! For some [odd] reason rice noodles were no where to be found in the grocery store last night, so I used angel hair pasta instead. No, I couldn’t wait and go to another grocery store.. I needed my soup. It still turned out good and fulfilled my craving. I actually just realized that I made a mistake with the recipe… I thought it tasted a little bit different from the last time I made it. Oops.

Want to see something incredible and crazy? Go and read this story. Fit2Fat2Fit is about a personal trainer who was obsessed with being fit who decided to go on an unrestricted diet with no exercise for six months. After the six months (which is up in about a week or so) he will teach people that it IS possible to get back in shape by sharing his workouts and meal plans with his readers. It’s incredible because it’s a pretty drastic way to try and motivate people, don’t you think? And crazy because, well .. I have never heard anything like it!
——————————-

Would you gain 50-60 pounds to try and motivate people to get active, if you knew you were going to have a strict workout and meal plan after six months?
~ Two words: definitely not! Plain and simple, I could not and would not do it. I think there are other ways to reach out and motivate people and I would most definitely seek out the alternative rather than gaining weight to do so. I admire the man for taking this challenge on and look forward to reading about his meal plans, workouts and see the transformation happen!

Poor TX… I will send you some rain from here k :)
Oh, you’re right.. I never thought of comparing the two. I think that doc. was called ‘Supersize Me’.. eek!

  2. Sabrina, you can order gymboss online–I have a direct link to the site. I haven’t seen them in stores, but I guarantee it is a good purchase.

I will be holding a giveaway next week, so maybe hold off and if you don’t win, then you can buy. So WORTH IT!

Hey friend! Loved reading your most recent update…way to get out with those runs and enjoy the early mornings! Love that. :D

I see Jess commenting on the GymBoss – yeah – I just ordered one! I know it will change my workouts and my clients’ for the best!

Crazy article too about that guy…I read it a few days ago too and kind of think it’s neat and kind of don’t – maybe just because it seems SO HARD to get back to where he was! But I guess that’s the point – he’ll truly be able to empathize with his clients now.

Oh – and Biggest Loser online in Canada? Go to http://www.citytv.com, click on your city, and watch full episodes there! There are other sites you can search it, but if you wait one day (ie: Weds), the full episode’s online at City TV.

Thanks for letting me know about the site to watch TBL. I will definitely be using it!
I feel the same way about what that trainer is doing.. that is hardcore!! I don’t think I could EVER do anything like it.

Let me know what you think of the Gymboss :) I think it will be reallllly helpful too!
