Bye bye BodyRock

So, how many of you watched The Biggest Loser last night?  My oh my, talk about drama. It’s so unfortunate that two of the contestants quit because they didn’t agree with the producers bringing back former contestants for the next challenge.  In one way, I understand why they were upset because if I thought I was part of the final five and then someone told me different, I’m sure I would be upset as well. On the other hand, I wish they would have used that energy towards focusing on kicking the returning contestants butts in the next challenge. I wonder if they will regret their decision?
Speaking of TBL, let’s talk about Dolvett for a second… he is now selling t-shirts! I wonder if this girl has seen these yet?! I actually really like this one:Before, when I went to the gym on a daily basis that’s what I would tell those who were on my treadmill. Just kidding… Sort of.

Last week, I saw a link on a different blog (can’t remember which one) that Zuzana Light (co-founder of BodyRock.tv) has her own page and is now doing ZWOW workout videos… I have to say, I am SO happy!! I love her energy, positive outlook on life and of course her killer workouts.Pinned Imageclick image for source
I’m curious to know what you all think of the "new" BodyRock.tv?

To be frank, I don’t like it. I was never a hard-core follower but would rather use the site more so for reference and ideas. I found BodyRock.tv a long time ago when they were first starting out and G-Man and I both said, "wow, this is going to be big" and it has indeed turned into a very popular website. All the power to them because it takes a lot of time and work to manage a website like that. With that being said, I’m still not a fan of all the recent changes. First off, I understand that sex sells but some of the photos have gotten to be ridiculous.  If I go to a website to get a workout, I do not need (nor want) to see a close up picture of certain body parts that show way to much detail. Don’t get me wrong, looking at a hot body can be motivating to workout harder but looking at pure booty, crotch and breast shots, is most definitely not and can be offensive.

Secondly, when people put themselves in the public eye one must understand that there is going to be criticism. I don’t feel that blocking and/or deleting comments and people is the right way to handle it.  When there are over 300,000 followers there are bound to be negative comments and people who don’t agree… that is just like anything else in life and what makes the world go round – differences.

I’m not going to say anymore. Some may ask, who am I to judge, right? It’s their site and they can do what they want with it. If that’s the kind of message they want to portray and completely disregard all of Lisa-Marie’s preaching on self-acceptance for so many weeks, then they can and that’s their choice.  Although, it all just seems a little too weird for me and I am choosing to not support it anymore.

What do YOU think?

Sweet things in life

Happy Monday!

It is a balmy 27 degrees here today and it feels amazing!

This weekend, I was blessed with all of the important things in life that I talked about here over at Fit Approach.

Friday, G-Man and I had an impromptu date night since both of the boys were at birthday parties. Being the obsessive organized, planner that I am, it was a fun and relaxing night for the two of us. I know I’ve said it before but I have to say it again, I sure lucked out and really do have the best.husband.ever. G-Man works so hard everyday yet he always makes the effort to make time for me and shows me every.single.day. just how much he loves me.

Saturday afternoon we headed to my parents because the next day, I had a bridal shower to go to for one of my girlfriends who I’ve known for over fourteen years. Wow, I feel soo old writing that. It was nice to have a quick visit with my parents and see some of my best girlfriends. There is lots going on in all of our lives so it’s always nice to catch up when we can.

This was our first group photo with the new addition… and we just love him to pieces! Time well spent with loving family and forever friends? Check!

In regards to exercising, after waking up early to my blaring alarm Saturday morning, not knowing where I was or what day it was, I sleepily climbed into my workout gear and did Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred DVD. It felt good to get my sweat on and get the heart pumping. With the need for movement still present but short on time, I sprinted around the block – about 1km. Love that feeling of my arms pumping hard and legs moving fast.

Guess what I did Sunday morning? I WENT FOR A RUN WITH MY MOM!! She is trying out a running group at her gym and 5km was on her training plan. She asked me to run it with her; it was SO FUN and she did AWESOME! She is actually pretty speedy. I am not only impressed but SO proud of her for trying something new.
It was foggy, humid and raining but we still got out the door. After running 5km with mi Madre, I went back out for a speedy 6km. It felt so great to be running along the country roads again, on a familiar route that brought back so many memories. I actually ran a personal best too… I don’t know if it was from the pouring rain or the motivation I got from running with my Mom but I loved it! My shirt was literally weighing me down by the end of my run. As I was finishing up my Mom was heading out the door to come and get me.

I have been thinking of all those who ran Boston this morning, especially those that I know, and hope all were able to complete their goals and finish strong!!

What do you choose?

Yesterday, I chose to do it. The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day and I was ready to move! I did two rounds, full out of the Easter Buns Burner and then went for a speedy 8km run. I NEVER run in the afternoon so I wasn’t expecting anything overly great but guess what? It was FANTASTIC! An added bonus was that it was nice enough for shorts… I just feel bad for those who saw my glowing legs.. glowing as in pasty white.
IMG_3357This morning I was pumped for a long run since I won’t be able to run tomorrow morning, although apparently my body had something else in mind. Maybe tired from yesterday? I don’t know but I ended up running 11km and had to force myself to make it that far. Oh well, it happens right.

From who or from where do you get your motivation?

I get my motivation from a lot of you guys!!
I’m happy to feature Janae @ THE HUNGRY RUNNER GIRL, one of my favourite bloggers, on my MOTIVATION page because well, she totally motivates me to not only run hard but to also enjoy the sweet things in life. You can read what she has to say HERE.  Thanks Janae for sharing with us!

What did you choose to do today?

Any big plans for the weekend?

Have you ever written and completed a post and then accidently closed it without saving it?
~ YES. That happened to me with this post.. I had it all written and then BAM. It was gone and I had to write it all over again. I was not happy.. hence why this second post is so short :)
