Shopping, eating and working out

Tuesday is already upon us but let’s do a little recap of the weekend, shall we?

Saturday, I worked with G-Man and despite it being a verrrrryyy long day, we had a lot of fun.  I love shooting weddings and this one was so classy and beautiful. It is an honour to be such a big part of our couples special day.  I did not wake up extra early to workout because I knew I was going to be on my feet ALL day, so I opted for the extra hour of sleep instead and thank goodness for that (not only my sake but for  the hubby as well, so he didn’t have to put up with a tired Sabrina).

Although Sunday was a busy day as well, it was nice to have a day with just the two of us and be on our own schedule. IMG_2690We did some running around and then went to the outlets in Niagara Falls to take a look around. I really wanted to find some new running bras. I won’t tell you how long it has been since I’ve bought new ones but I will tell you that I bought two new ones! I bought the NIKE pro combat compression sports bra for only $25.00 each. IMG_2701I also bought a pair of jeans and these babies from Nine West:
IMG_2706I would not consider myself a high heels kind of girl … but when I go out – as in to an event or party, I do like to wear them… and I can’t wait to wear these!

After my stomach started eating itself and getting the shakes from my beverage of choice in the morning (remember? I don’t do well with caffeine), I was ready to call it a day. Does anyone else find that shopping makes them SO tired?!

We hit up a local Mexican restaurant Chile and Agave on the way home. It was our first time there and overall it was an okay experience. The ambiance is basic yet nice and I really enjoyed the music. We started out with “sopa de tortilla” and it was really good.

I had the “ensalada azteca” and I didn’t really like it. I swear there was an entire chopped onion in the salad. I couldn’t eat it because of the onion overload which turned me off.

G-Man had “tacos al pastor” and really liked them. I don’t think I would go back.. maybe for the soup. I would much rather enjoy G-Man’s amazing authentic Mexican cooking in the comfort of our own home.
IMG_2699Yesterday, I hit up the gym and had a great workout. I did the Stairmaster for 30 minutes and then did the following:

2 minutes full out [of each move] with 10-20 seconds rest between each move:
*exception: 3 minutes of jumping jack squats

~Jumping Jack squats
~Skaters  (you can see an example here)
~High Knees
~Leg raises – laying flat on back, legs out
~Push ups
~Burpees
~Plank Jacks
~Rotating side to side lunges

It was INTENSE. I was trying not to moan and groan but my body was literally trembling from pushing myself so hard. For the push ups, after the first minute, I had to modify and go to my knees because it was tough. My body is a bit sore today and I can definitely feel that I pushed myself, although, I feel GOOD and can’t WAIT to do it again!  I love being able to get such a great workout with simple exercises in a short amount of time.

~What was your workout today?!

~Would you rather stay on a machine at the gym for an hour or longer OR push full out for 15-20 minutes and then be finished your workout for the day?
I am loving the high-intensity workouts for sure. If there is a good show on the TV at the gym, it will definitely keep me on the machine longer.

First off, yes, shopping makes me so drained! Good finds though. :D

Secondly, GREAT workout Sabrina! I love what you did…but 2 minutes?! Are you kidding me?! Wow – that’s a LONG time for some of those moves (I’m thinking push ups and plank jacks in particular)…way to go! I’ll have to try this one (or modify it a bit!) for myself and/or my clients! Thanks.

My workout today can be found here: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/11/28/it-will-rain-sweat-1000-rep-workout/ The 1,000 Rep Workout. Give it a shot! SUCH a good one. Love the moves, limited equipment (could technically be all-body), and the intensity of it – 4, 5 rounds? Not bad. By 8 I was done. ;) Love that.

Also, I want to eat at your place again and try some of Gustavo’s Mexican food! I love it and compared to what you can get in California, Calgary/Canada’s version normally doesn’t do it for me. ;) Say hi to him from the Langs!

yes, two minutes seems like a long time and it was killer but it actually made me push harder thinking “ok, just push through it and you’ll be done that much sooner!”

Ohh, I saw that workout too. Definitely hardcore! You guys are welcome here anytime.. it would be awesome to have you!! xoxo

  3. Shopping always makes me hungry and snacky too! Funnily, I have a post similar to that coming up tomorrow morning. Score on those deals, though!
